The Stewart Conundrum - Whats in a name?

As you may well know The Stewart Conundrum was dubbed "A benchmark in Australian television, Our answer to The Killing" by no lesser publication than The Yabbie Creek Chronicle. So if you missed it, here is what happened next.

When we last left it Alf, Sally, and a mysterious stranger were in a jeep with no brakes and being chased by God knows who.

"We'll have to jump" the mysterious stranger yells. "And hopefully our pursuers won't notice"

So the three jump from the speeding jeep and hide while the chasing car zooms past.

"Now who the flamin' hell are you?" Alf says, as they get themselves together.

"Sorry, where are my manners. I'm Theo St. Pahib"

"You still haven't answered Mr. Stewart's question" Sally chips in.

“Sorry. I'm Celia's husband she sent me here to get you”

"Her flamin' husband. Hogan's ghost!"

"Now it won't take long for our pursuers to cotton on. So let's get going"

Reluctantly Sally and Alf go with Theo St. Pahib. They come to a small town. But find out Celia has moved on. Alf sneaks off to phone Morag to tell her of developments.

"Theo St. Pahib, that's an unusual name," Morag says jotting it down.

"Never mind that. What do you think we should do?" Alf asks.

"I suggest you stick with this St. Pahib character. What choice do you have? "

"Thanks Morag" Alf sarcastically says hanging up.

On getting back, Alf can't find Sally or St. Pahib. He asks around only to find they have left the village. On asking where they went he is told they have set off into the most dangerous part of the country, the rebel stronghold. Alf is baffled and goes in search of them.

Back in Yabbie Creek, Morag is looking at the name she has jotted down.

"Theo St. Pahib" she mutters as her assistant Lance walks into her office.

"That's a funny name ah. Sounds like it should be an anagram" Lance says.

"An anagram! The name is an anagram! I never thought I'd say this Lance, but you're a genius"

Lance dimly smiles, as Morag quickly, with Countdown champion of champion’s speed, rearranges the letters. Morag urgently reaches for the phone.

"I must tell Alfred, the name is an anagram, but why that?"

We cut to Alf's phone ringing. He can't answer it because he is surrounded by gun toting rebels.

To be continued.

Over.
