Strictly - Halloween Week.

Halloween week on Strictly and the show creaked and bowed under the concept but the most frightening thing was the dancing. Buried under a ton of props, Strictly is becoming unrecognisable from its early years. How can you have the memorable dances like Jill Halfpenny, Alesha, Mark Ramprakash, when the stage is cluttered with beds, coffins and God knows what.

So, yet again, the standard wasn't that great. You got the feeling Jason only won because he actually danced and didn't re-enact, like most of the others, a Pan's People routine from the 70's. You also feel the judges have singled out their favourites, Chelsee and Lulu. Lulu, in particular, gets over-marked. From what I can see her performance this week wasn't much better than Nancy's. Being air lifted in probably helped, but she was given a thumbs up for some reason.

The results show was its usual damp squib self and I don't know about you, but Len's Lens is getting on my nerves. The show culminated in Nancy's departure, just when I was starting to enjoy her crazed shenanigans. Oh well.

Here's an idea for a concept, dance week. Where the couples just do the routine, without some giant prop and storytelling straight out of an early 80's music video. Might make a pleasant change.
