The Strictly Results Show is a curious beast it seems to lack, well, everything. Now that the dance off has been scrapped there is no real natural climax. The chemistry between Tess and Claudia is non existent. In fact, they are kept apart for most of the show. No doubt, if they shared more screen time, we would end up with bigger spats than Steps Reunion. Couldn't Bruce be given a couple of Senatogen and a can of Red Bull and told to crack on?
The show is just a big entertainment black hole. A little chat from the judges, but nothing we haven't already heard. A song from someone doing the rounds. Will Young this week and I'm sure you noticed he wasn't flanked by the shows professional dancers. Perhaps there have been too many complaints, from artists, as they warble their latest single, while Ola steals their thunder by twirling around them. Plus, I'm not too sure, but are they still labouring under the pretext that the show is actually going live on Sunday night? Half an hours worth of voting time and the same people in the same seats, smashes that shaky facade surely. Anyway, all we are really left with is a slow procession to someone being turfed out of the cosy Strictly Family. In future, I think a lot of us will make use of the fast forward button and get the whole dreary thing over and done with in five minutes.
