The first series had the five members hating each others guts from a distance this time they get to hate each others guts in close proximity. We still have the basic 'will they won't they' scenario, even though contracts have been signed and arenas sold out. But the obstacle this time isn't that they don't like each other, it is personal commitments. Clare, Lisa and Faye have young families, H and his partner are planning for a baby and Lee has to appear on Argos TV. It's moving stuff as each member asks themselves have they made the right decision? Usually we got a tear forming in the corner of the eye, these are pros, they don't want to shoot their load too quickly, the full on waterworks will arrive in weeks to come.
The people I felt most sorry for was Manager Stephen and Choreographer Gareth; the duo acted like, and not without reason, a Steps reunion tour would be a lot easier without the members of Steps. Like when Lisa decided to stay in Dubai, where she lives apparently, with her family for a couple of extra weeks instead of making tour arrangements and picking the dancers. I had to wonder if it wasn't a TOWIEesque set up to make the show a little, emphasis on the little, bit more exciting.
Anyway I'm sure we will be in for lots of tears, tantrums, and soul searching, over the coming weeks, as no one mentions the cash cow in the room; the shed load of money they will make. Enough so they won't have to worry about panto for a fair few years.
