Hit and Miss - Sky Atlantic.

In Sky Atlantic's new show Chloe Servigny plays Mia a trans-gender hit-man / woman. And there is the first hurdle, can you buy Chloe Servigny having once been a man? I must admit I did struggle, but managed to try and push through it. ( it is really hard to come up with a sentence that didn't sound like a Carry On line there, sorry.) But no sooner has Mia carried out another hit, than she finds out she has a son and is guardian to a herd of feral kids. And, what's more, they seem to have slipped into a time vortex, because they appear to live in a 19th century farm house, cutting the heads off chickens and taking pigs to be slaughtered. Here we come upon another hurdle, where is this show set? I am assuming it is the Yorkshire Moors, but it all seems post apocalyptic, so much so that it makes The Road look like Las Vegas at times. Apart from their throwback elements, the kids are initially, yep you guessed it, hostile to Mia. Hostile in a way kids are in, say, a Steve Martin film, and  like a Steve Martin film you just know Mia will win them over. Also, no doubt to move the show along a little, we saw her/him slit a man's throat and beat up the local bad guy. So what we, sort of, have here with Hit and Miss is a downtrodden, almost post apocalypse, Steve MartinesqueWestern, indie, violent, trans-gender thriller. I know, not another one of those, I hear you say. But i'm not sure it will be a hit and I'll be given it a miss..
