Eastbound and Down Season 4

Think about an unlikeable hero of a TV show, I mean really unlikable (let's exclude anything Ross Kemp has been in here) got one? You said Kenny Powers right? Yep, the single most obnoxious, self obsessed, be-mulleted character any of us have ever watched, an yet somehow we root for him. Eastbound and Down has returned for its final season and Danny McBride's nightmare creation is back on top form.

We join Kenny, the world's least likely family man, married to April (Katy Mixon ) and with two young children. As you would expect Kenny isn't exactly father of the year, the conversation with his daughter about The HumanCentipede is brilliant. Stuck in a job in a car rental firm, Kenny still dreams of getting back into baseball and the brief fame that gifted him way back. The tension of the opening episode was when would Kenny explode and explode he did. No doubt hapless Steve ( Steve Little ) will return at some point so Kenny can screw up his life yet again.

Eastbound and Down can't really be up there with the greats because, at times, the tone has been uneven and Kenny really is too much of an acquired taste, but, if you can get on its wave length, it has always been very funny. This is supposed to be the final season, exactly like the last on was supposed to be, so I can't imagine creators Ben Best, Jody Hill and Danny McBride will let Kenny bleeping Powers go gently into that goodnight. I think we will be in for the usual rip roaring, cringe inducing, hard to take, mad ride . Bring it on.
