Suntrap Is The BBC Too Clever For Us?

Are we all being a bit slow when it comes to the BBC's new comedy Suntrap add your own inverted commas here. On the surface it seems like a dreadfully written abysmally acted show. But is it a deeply ironic comment on the horrific state of the British sitcom. Ummm, probably not. Kayvan Novak , truly terrible, plays Woody a reporter on the run from a bogus corruption charge, so he goes to see his old oppo Brutus, a dire, Bradley Walsh, a bar owner on some Spanish island. The first episode had our hapless duo getting mixed up with a stolen parrot. And yes you guessed it hilarious shenanigans ensued. Well no,  to call it stultifyingly laboured is praising it. No doubt the writers Neil Webster and Charlie Skelton, insert your inverted commas here, chuckled as they thought they were knocking out zinger after zinger. But these are clunkers that all the Kayvan Novak silly voices in the world can't save. The main question with Suntrap is how did it get made? I can only think it was a bet to see if people will watch any old trash thrown in front of them. What is the best bet Elvis coming back to Earth in a spaceship or series two of Suntrap? My money is on the king.
