Wedding Band - Supermarket Comedy.

You know when you go into those cheapo supermarkets and their products look like genuine brands but clearly are not, well that is the feeling you get watching Five*'s Wedding Band. We have a reproduction Paul Rudd, a fake Zac Galafanakis/ Jack Black and a knock off Robert Downey/ Bradley Cooper. Filter the whole thing through The Hangover and Bridesmaids and you have Wedding Band a show as genuine as a Sunday market LouisVuitton hand bag.

Wedding Band is billed as a comedy drama, that's light on the comedy and even lighter on the drama. It concerns four friends who in their spare time are members of Mother of the Bride a, yep, wedding band. The pilot episode hit us with the stunningly original scenario where lead singer and perennialbachelor Tommy (Brian Austin Green) gets the band a gig at his ex's wedding. Think of every wedding show cliche you have ever seen, double it and you get the idea; it was one of the most hamfisted attempts at farce I have ever seen. Even the appearance of Megan Fox, in the second episode, couldn't dissuade me from turning it off. But then again a show stuck away, late at night, on Five* doesn't say edgy and adult it screams dire and cancelled.
