FX Jo - 20 minutes or 20 hours?

How long do you have to watch a show before you can review it, do you have to watch the whole thing? Well if that was the case I doubt there would be any reviews of Fox's new Euro pudding Jo. I made just twenty minutes and that felt like twenty hours.

Jo (Jean Reno) is a hard bitten homicide cop in Paris, we know he is hard bitten because his apartment is untidy and full of empty booze bottles (I know, I've never seen that used before either). But here is the real shock Jo is the only person in Paris who speaks with a French accent, the rest are American, English and, what sounds like, Canadian.  Jo doesn't even seem to notice this because he is too focused on solving crimes; but that is a pretty straight forward affair in this shabby show. All that happens is you find the body then ask people a question and they send you to someone else and you ask them the same question, namely, "Did you do it?" Well that is how the first twenty minutes panned out before I hit delete. But I had the feeling the next half hour, or so, would be much the same before our hero snapped the handcuffs on the culprit. Jo is a poor programme and the pilot had the tired feeling of a third season filler episode. Add to that  the usually reliable Jean Reno seems to sleep walk through his performance as if he has personally drunk   all the booze in Jo's apartment and you wouldn't blame him, the dialogue he has to mumble is atrocious

This deeply dull show has taken the Dexter slot on Fox, talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous.
