That's So Last Century, How Did We Survive.

To paraphrase L.P. Hartley, 'The past is a foreign country, so let's laugh at how silly they were'. That seems to be the thrust of Channel 4's Thats So Last Century. It is yet another show where celebs waffle on loudly about obscure technology. But we're not talking about the Spinning Jenny here its the Walkman and the VCR. So you can imagine the hillarity as celebs get misty eyed and snidey in equal measures about cameras and old phones. Then add some clueless kids so we can laugh at them as they look in total bafflement at old computers and televisions. I'm not sure what these shows are really about.No doubt smug, hipster programme makers laughing at how we all survived without social media and artisinal breakfast cereal. But we have to remember we are only ten years away from shows that will be laughing at I pads and twitter.
